Luggage, baggage, family travel baggage

we all have baggage

But this is the kind we get to choose!

We've family-tested countless bags, backpacks and packing helpers, and these are our favorites.

CARRY-ON FROM vera bradley

Two Scoops' Moms {heart} Vera Bradley's Weekender.  Perfect carry-on size for all those family travel necessities and it has a trolly strap (translation: it slides on the handle of your carry-on bag leaving your hands free ... for Starbucks...your phone...boarding passes...and your daughter's stuffed polar bear).  It complies with 'most' airlines' carry-on measurements, but be sure to check your airline's guidelines.

swissgear weekender backpack

One of the best 'teen' backpacks we've reviewed.  Opens flat to maximize packing space.  Pockets for laptops/tablets, outside water bottle pocket.  Trolly sleeve allows it to slide it on a carry-on bag and the side handle helps when you carry it like a bag.   All that, and still pretty cool looking for the guys in your family.

This little Minnie travels in style - and not just to Disney!  She's roomy and fun and rolls like a dream.

Mickey joins his Minnie in this smooth-rolling spinner suitcase.  Melissa has one and they never miss a trip to DisneyWorld!

Chicago 20" Hardside Carry-On by Traveler's Club

Feeling adventurous and want to try carry-on only ?  Heather has family-tested these economical carry-ons and they passed with flying colors.  Smooth spinners glide easily directed by a sturdy handle.  The telescoping handle stops at different heights and works great for adults and kids alike.  If zipped tight, they comply with most carry-on size regulations (although not Frontier or Ryan Air as of this post).  Not a lot of bells and whistles, but they are durable and get the job done!  Oh - and everyone can have their favorite color!

luggage scale

You never think you need one, until your bags lay open at curb-side check-in, while you frantically try to move 6.5 pounds from one bag to another.  Bless my BFF who gave me one as a gift (I think she was a little embarrassed that day!).  This tiny scale is packable and promises to save you from an heavy-weight fiasco.

foldable travel duffle

Repeat after me:  You can never have too many bags!  Especially ones you can smoosh into a bigger bag.

These fold-able travel bags from TrustBag will be your new favorite back-up bag.  Waterproof with a trolly sleeve, they go to work bringing home dirty laundry or those extra souvenirs 'someone' just had to have.
